It’s definitely getting colder so it’s time to get the knit jumpers and sweater dresses out of my storage and onto my hangers and shelves.
As always, I’m super excited to be changing up my wardrobe.
For me, this feels like a fresh start and I can’t wait to start wearing the items I haven’t seen in so long.
If you want a more detailed guide on how to create a capsule wardrobe, then click here, but if you know what they are and you’re looking for some inspiration, then you’ve come to the right place.
THE COLOUR PALETTE
I’ve been doing capsules for more than two years and during this time I slowly discovered which are my go-to colours.
When it comes to winter, I prefer more saturated deep colours.
I tend to gravitate towards oranges, pinks and plums with a base of black, white and beige. I also have some pieces in light pink, grey and obviously, denim, which are great complementary colours.
*TIP: If you’re new to doing capsules and you’re not sure which colours to pick then don’t worry about it. Simply pick items you want to have in your capsule and then observe yourself to see which colours you favour. With time you’ll learn more about your preferences which will make styling and shopping much easier and enjoyable.
MY CHOICES
My process of choosing is very straightforward. First, I put every item in my closet and storage on my bed, so I have everything in sight. Then, I go through each piece separately deciding if I want it in my winter wardrobe or not.
I don’t worry about the total number of items because I feel that that shouldn’t be so important when I’m picking out my favourite pieces to wear. I want to feel free and joyful, not restricted.
Lastly, once I have everything in my closet I do a quick review to see if I like everything and that’s it!

MY ADDITIONS & WISHLIST
I already bought some things this winter, like sparkly tights to wear in my festive outfits. I also replaced two older black bags for a newer one and I updated my suede boots for more durable ones from leather.
I also purchased a houndstooth turtleneck and black off the shoulder sweater.
All that is left on my wishlist are black shorts, which I wanted for a long time but they’ll be back in stock in January.
And unfortunately, I shrunk my favourite pink cashmere sweater last year, so I’m on the hunt for a new one. So far, I didn’t find anything I liked so I will probably continue looking for it next year.
If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help it spread by sharing it! Thank you 😉
