Ta-da! It’s that time of the year again! It’s time to switch up my wardrobe from summer and create a new selection for fall.
Fall is probably my least favourite season because of the gloomy days, but changing up my wardrobe certainly helps me feel just a little bit more excited 🙂
I also have some new items I look forward to wearing, especially because I’ve been on the hunt for them since last year.
You know what they say, good things come to those who wait, and they were right 😉

COLOUR PALETTE
For me, fall always feels a bit colourless, so that shows up in my colour palette as well.
Funny enough, I prefer more colours in winter, but in fall I gravitate towards neutral colours.
That is why my base colours consist of a lot of black, white and beige.
I also have jeans from a light wash to a dark wash – denim is a great coordinating colour that helps me spice up the neutrals. I also love light grey as a coordinating colour as well.
And as usual, I have my coral and different shades of pinks to give me that pop of colour when I need one.
MY CHOICES
Now let’s take a peek in my autumn capsule wardrobe.
If you read about my capsule wardrobe mistakes, you already know that I never focus on limiting to a specific number when choosing what to keep, so my numbers are something very personal that work for my preferences and my lifestyle.
If this seems like too much or too little to you, you can always adjust it to your own needs, and the effect will be no different 😉

CLEAR OUT, MINI HAUL & MY WISHLIST
If you look at my list of items I chose, you can see that I have 4 new items in my autumn wardrobe.
I got a new neutral nude bag in August for my birthday, which I’ve been wearing a lot this summer and I know I’ll wear it all year round.
The second thing I got is a black blazer with silver buttons, that I wanted for some time now. I’m very selective with any kind of jacket because it has to be comfortable, so when I saw this Balmain style blazer with 3% elastane (plus it was on sale), I knew it was a no-brainer to add it to my collection.
The third thing is a black faux fur coat. Oh, I had fun looking for this one last year (not!). I was actively searching for it with no luck, and the only one that I liked was 3.500 euros and it was real fur, so I obviously passed. But, then I found this faux fur coat just last week, and I was in love. It’s warm, stylish, cute and comfortable, so it ticks all the boxes on my list 😉
The last item I added was a black off-shoulder cotton top, that is perfect for everyday wear. I’m a sucker for classic items with a twist, and this one definitely delivers.
Because I have no intention on expanding my existing wardrobe, I follow one in, one out rule with each purchase, so this season I decluttered exactly 4 things from my wardrobe.
I gave a black coat I wasn’t wearing that often and was to similar to the other one I wear all the time to my mum, and she loves it!
I also let go of a red short-sleeve top I wasn’t wearing because it wasn’t really my colour, and for the same reason, I passed on a red crew neck jumper that I rarely wore.
The last item to leave my closet was my Christmas jumper. I got it as a gift and I only wore it once a year, and even then I didn’t really enjoy it all that much, so I knew I had to say goodbye.
So four out, four in, and that makes my closet stay fit 😉
As far as my wishlist goes, I have only one item I would like to add this season – a black leather waist belt. But because this is something I’m planning to wear all year round I’m in no rush; when I find one that I love, I’ll buy it.
If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help it spread by sharing it! Thank you 😉
Love your style!
I just put together my first capsule for ages – couldn‘t live with this just 37 pieces rule and gave up years ago.
Your sytem makes much more sense. I now have 4 capsules – 1 more formal stuff and 1 business casual, 1 casual for casual friday and working remotely and 1 for my free time (with everything I can‘t wear to work).
Every capsule has 6-9 pieces and I just love it!
Thank you so much 🙂 And yes, I find that following the “number rules” can often take a lot of fun out of a capsule wardrobe. I’m super happy you found something that works for you 😘
