Spring is almost here and with the days already much warmer and longer it’s time to change my winter capsule wardrobe into a spring one 🙂
I’ve made a lot of changes to my wardrobe during the winter months, and I’m super happy that I finally upgraded some pieces that I can wear throughout winter, spring and fall. I’m going to share more about that at the end of the post, but now I can show you everything I picked for my spring capsule wardrobe 2021.
THE COLOUR PALETTE
I love neutral and muted colours for spring, so for my basic colours, I picked black, white and denim (mostly in medium or lighter wash). Then for my accent colours, I went for my usual brighter shades of pink and coral, with the addition of cream and light pink. And for extra versatility, I also have a few pieces in tan and light grey.
As far as patterns go, I pretty much wear all of my patterns in transitional seasons. The three that I have in my wardrobe are the classic polka dot, which I have mostly in the tights that I wear with solid skirts and dresses. The second pattern is tartan check that I have in some of my tops, but mostly in my scarves because they compliment my solid tops so so nicely. And the last print is floral, which I usually have on my dresses.
MY CHOICES
I’m really happy with my selection for spring. I have a lot of thinner neutral and colourful jumpers that are perfect to wear with jeans, skirts and high waisted shorts.
This year I made my spring capsule wardrobe a bit more fluid, which means that I’ll change 5-10 warmer pieces with thinner ones around 6 weeks in. This will help me keep my closet truly season-appropriate because I’ll adjust it with the changing weather. I just find this a much better option than purposely picking more items for a transitional capsule in order to cover both warmer and cooler months at the same time.

MY ADDITIONS & WISHLIST
In the video above, I showed everything that I decluttered, plus I also tried new items on, so if you’re interested in my haul and a clear-out make sure to check it out. But here, I’ll quickly go through my additions and my wishlist.
During the winter, I decluttered 9 items, which is a lot more than usual, but sometimes that is just necessary. I had many jumpers that I wasn’t wearing, and I also upgraded my underwear and activewear collection.
So the first two things I decluttered are the big oversized sports sweaters I borrowed from my husband because he wasn’t wearing them. I truly enjoyed wearing them initially, but later I noticed the spark just wasn’t there anymore. So when I saw a bright coral Adidas hoodie in the store, I decided to make space for it by decluttering the two sweaters I wasn’t enjoying anymore. Plus, I also decluttered a white tee from my sports collection because it’s a bit see-through and I really don’t enjoy wearing it all that much.
The second thing I added to my underwear drawer are two bodysuits; one in black and one in nude. I had my black and nude cami for years, and I wear them all the time, so adding two bodysuits in the same style made a lot of sense. But because of the new additions, I decluttered one of my two nude camis because I really don’t need three nude undershirts.
As my main closet goes, I decluttered six items: white lace long sleeve top, which was just too tight for me, and I rarely wore it. Again I found a better replacement for it, which is basically a white lace long sleeve top in a bodysuit, but comfortable. I also decluttered a plum jumper that was too tight and too short on me, and I replaced it with a plum turtleneck sweater. Plus, I also decluttered a bright pink cashmere sweater (I had two similar ones), and I brought a new orange sweater in.
I also decluttered two items without replacing them: a houndstooth skirt I just never wore and I didn’t find it flattering on me. And the second thing is a white cashmere jumper that was slightly too big and it just didn’t look right.
So overall, I decluttered 9 items, and I brought 6 new pieces in. I’m pleased with the changes that I made because I felt that my closet needed an update for some time now.
As for my wishlist goes I don’t really have anything that I want to add to my spring capsule wardrobe at the moment. What I have is a small wishlist for the summer, but even though I would love to go summer shopping, it’s a bit too early for that, hehe.
I hope this inspires you to change your wardrobe into a spring one as well, and if you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help it spread by sharing it! Thank you 😉

Hehe, yes, it looks easy because I’ve been doing it for years. But in the beginning, it takes time, so don’t give up 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed the post!
