Even though we’re staying at home these days I still switched my fall capsule wardrobe to a winter one because I feel much better that way 🙂
It’s true that I’ve become a bit lazier with dressing myself lately, but by switching my capsule wardrobe I at least get a little bit more excited to wear some of the items I haven’t seen for a really long time.
So now I can show you what I picked, and I will also share a few bits that I decluttered and a few things that I added to my winter capsule wardrobe for 2021.
THE COLOUR PALETTE
This winter my colour palette looks very similar to the last year. Like always I love wearing a lot of black during winter with other neutrals like whites and creams. These are what I gravitate towards and are what I call my base colours.
For coordinating colours I have my denim, as usual, hehe, and I also picked a light pink shade. And for my accent colours, I love wearing colourful jumpers during winter in the colour orange, pink and plum. So here is my colour palette and the colour I wear during colder winter months.
MY CHOICES
As always I didn’t focus on any numbers when deciding what to keep, instead, I just followed my heart. I must admit that when picking out pieces for this winter I wasn’t as excited as I usually am but I still did my best to build my normal capsule wardrobe.
I’m still happy with how everything turned out. I have more jumpers than I necessarily need but that’s because I wanted to wear them this winter to see if I still want to keep them or do I want to let them go (some I shrunk last year, and some are just really old).

MY ADDITIONS & WISHLIST
This winter I decluttered four things out of my closet.
The first thing is a grey coat that I almost never wore, so when my mum said she needed one I immediately gave it to her and now she wears it all the time. So it’s a win-win!
The second thing I decluttered are black high-waisted shorts that I wore quite a lot but I had one big problem with them; they were really short, so I didn’t feel very comfortable wearing them. That is why I got a new longer pair that is even better and more stylish.
The third thing I gave away is a black tube mini skirt that was too figure-hugging and I just didn’t find it that flattering on me. That’s why I rarely wore it, and when I found an elastic a-line black mini skirt I knew I don’t need it anymore.
And the last thing I put out of my main capsule wardrobe is a white tee that was super figure-hugging and slightly see-through. Again, not very flattering and I didn’t wear it as much as I wanted to. So I found a better replacement and I’m much happier with the new version. But in this case, I actually repurposed my old white tee and I put it in my activewear and loungewear capsule to see if I would wear it more there.
In total, I added 3 items, decluttered 3 and repurposed 1.
As for my wishlist goes I honestly don’t have anything that I want to add to my winter capsule this year.
Somewhere in the future, I want to add a pair of high over-the-knee boots with a low heel but I’m still deciding if that would be a great addition or not. But other than that, that’s it!
What are your favourite things to wear during winter?
If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help it spread by sharing it! Thank you 😉
