My activewear and loungewear capsule wardrobe

I’m so excited to show you everything that I keep in my activewear and loungewear capsule wardrobe for the entire year. In my blog post about 6 tips to create your own active and leisure capsule wardrobe, I talked about the importance of knowing your schedule so you can build a perfect capsule for your needs. That’s why I’ll quickly walk you through my routines to show you exactly how I use all of the items in my collection.

I do 25 minutes of yin yoga most of my work-day mornings, and for that, I need a bra, top and some kind of leggings. After I finish, I quickly change into my normal clothes for the day until it’s time to change back into more comfy clothes (when I finish working, I almost always change into my leisure clothes). For that, I use the same set from the morning, but I also add a hoodie for the extra layer of warmth.

And when it’s sunny outside, I also take the opportunity for some kind of an afternoon walk with my husband or my sister. Again, I don’t change my clothes, I just go outside in what I’m already wearing, and that’s it. During winter months, I also add a pair of sweatpants over my leggings and a winter puffer jacket, and during transitional seasons I only use a puffer jacket without the sweatpants.

This is pretty much how my every working day looks, and I usually wear my set for 2-3 days before I put it in my laundry bin.

On a Sunday, I’m usually in my sport and leisure clothes from the morning till the evening because that’s when I do my weekly cleaning around the house, and to be honest, I also don’t care that much to wear my main capsule except if I have anything special to do.

That’s pretty much how my week goes; I use my items for pretty much everything: lounging around the house, doing yoga, walking, cleaning etc. So now that you know the basics, I can show you what I keep in my active and leisure capsule wardrobe 🙂

My updated activewear capsule wardrobe for 2022:

MY ACTIVEWEAR AND LOUNGEWEAR COLLECTION 2021

In the past, I used to store all of my items in separate categories (such as pyjamas, leisure clothes, sports clothes, home stuff etc.). But I realised that that system wasn’t very good because I could easily buy duplicates without even noticing it.

When my collection was super sub-categorised, it was easy to buy one pair of leggings for training, then another for lounging around the house, the third pair for casual style, etc. It was easy for me to overbuy which resulted in a confusing and overwhelming collection.

But now, I combined all of my categories and I keep everything in one drawer. This is my upper limit for my leisure and active capsule, so even if I wanted to add more stuff to my collection, it would be physically impossible for me to cram it in my drawer, haha.

HOME STUFF (3):

  • 1 bathrobe: for at-home spa days, to cover myself after waking up etc.
  • 2 silk slips: for lounging around the house and at-home spa days 😉

TOPS & BRAS (24):

  • 2 sports bras: for heavy-duty exercise
  • 8 tops: I can wear them for training, under my hoodies, for lounging around the house and so on
  • 8 hoodies and jumpers: all for training, lounging around the house, going on walks, cleaning etc.
